Girls! Girls! Girls!

Chicks are amazing creatures. Uber chicks like Lorelai Gilmore are even more amazing. Able to cram in a hundred words in a single breath. Ditto for her daughter, Rory- Now she's a smart young lady, who's equally pretty.

Pretty girls, who talk very fast. How could you not be turned on? Welcome to the world of Gilmore Girls. Hands down, it's the best chick TV show in the new millennium. While chicks in the last century resorted to using guns or talk dirty or well, look sexy just to get high ratings; chicks now simply need to talk fast. Hehe

OK lah, so looking pretty and having really nice clothes and good-looking boyfriends are a plus. But no one in TV land has ever talked this fast since Blossom's best friend (forgot the name-anyone?). See, most of TV's female tag-teams have talked at normal pace: Cagney & Lacey, Mary Tyler Moore & Rhoda, Murphy Brown & the rest of her cast.

After watching the Gilmores, I learned that chicks love to express their problems. Communication is very important. Of course there will be times when Rory keeps secrets from her mother, for instance when a boy kisses Rory at the local grocery store.

Rory was flabbergasted and couldn't confide to Lorelai until days later. But believe me, once chicks re-open that communication line, it's like floodgates re-opened.

Being a guy, it took a lot to purge my system of "Gilmore Girls Chick-mode". After watching more than 12 episodes of the show on DVD last week, I must say I'm all "chicked-out". And I'm only halfway through the box set.

I love the show and it's addictive! Just like the coffee the girls drink ALL THE TIME in the show. No wonder-lah they're so hyper.

To be in "chick-mode" too long is exhausting. All I wanted to do after 12 episodes was get drunk, watch football and grow a beer belly, and maybe get laid- you know, the male things guys stereotypically do.

But alas, I returned to episode 13. And more drama there was! Break-up! Rory's father returns! Rory's father gets down and dirty with Lorelai on a balcony! Perlu ke? But in the case of the Gilmore Girls, so perlu, okeyyyy....
