Prose and Verse

I finally met a friend I haven't seen in months. Gosh, it was awkward. So I drove for almost an hour south. Made the phone call. By the time we met I was famished. So we decided to eat. I had rice with Ayam masak cabai and kailan ikan masin. Dude, the ayam masak cabai had too much onions which I simply could not take. Hello, flatulence is unnecessary. Had a swell time. I staved off the need to drive to Penang to buy DVDs at Batu Feringghi.

A few hours earlier......
It was my off day. I had some work to finish up during earlier in the day. Went to the office around 2pm. Met my boss and we had lunch at Pokok Ceri. I had the nasi bryani ayam- sucked big time! Tasted like wood. Boss had huge piece of telur ikan, which unfortunately sucked too. Thankfully the company was great. A photographer guy from Bernama joined us and we talked about communication technology. I never knew he was into all that. He suggested we take up Telekom's fixed wireless line- it's a permanent phone line which you can bring with you everywhere, using a handphone of course. And you can hook up the line to a laptop to surf the net.

It's 1am, I'm in the office. A time when I'm typically in the office to blog or surf the net. One in a Million is on 8TV now, and contestant is screwing up Lady Marmalade. Paul hates the girl's diction. I think it's the weekly preliminary round or something. Eeekk...now someone's screwing up Macy Gray's I Try! Pitchy. She's nervous. Kesian kan? It is nerve-wrecking to be in these kinda shows, you know. For us, the audience, it's easy to criticise these contestants. Again, Paul is criticising the person's diction. Syafinaz says it was an inappropriate song. Dudes, check it out, the contestants have to sing behind a screen, so the judges don't see them. They only hear their voices and see their shadow. Now, it's Dayang! And the reaction on Paul Moss and Syafinaz's faces priceless. Syafinaz has this look of "Oh, it's the professional singer.."

Last night.....
I fell asleep while watching the last episode of Gilmore Girls on DVD. It was the "full circle" episode. Gilmore mom, Lorelai receives a marriage proposal. Daughter Gilmore, Rory finally says I love you to her beloved Dean. Why is it so hard to say that, I LOVE YOU. I've had people telling me that on first dates. I kid you not. WTF? Of course it was during moments of extreme passion. Like Lorelai once said, "When it comes to love/ matters of the heart, the words usually come out in Moron."

Not that I want to crush these people's hearts. But LOVE is a big word you simply musn't blurt out randomly.
But I'm a fun-lovin person who likes the concept of love. But I don't know what it means. Love of lovers that is

The love of lovers
The love of lovers
As illusive to me
As that James Blunt song
A chance encounter
I saw your face in a crowded place
And I don't know what to do
Cause I'll never be with you

Stop plagiarizing, you plagiarizing poet.

The love of lovers
One kiss
The love of lovers
I know love of a mother
I know love of a sister too
I was raised by women
I looked up to them

But the love of a lover?
Is it about that kiss?
Is it that look?
That glance? That smile?
That giddy feeling
All the nervousness, the fear, the rollercoster ride?
I know none of it

The heartache. The heart breaks, you know.
It is fragile. But it also moves mountains
The heart. That heartache.
I know nothing of it

The love of lovers
Say it out loud!
The love of a friend.
We are but mere mortals who need company
When we go out to have coffee
When we watch a movie

Say it out loud!
Love Love Love
The love of lovers
Maybe illusive but I don't fret it
Whatever love I have
is all inside me
And when I chose to share it with my lover
I will
But for now
My love is for those who I have coffee with
And for those whom I share a movie
And lest we forget
For That Love Divine

Say it out loud!
The love of lovers
I'm not afraid of thee
Come into my world and you will see
I fear not
I love with abandon
I love with abandon
I love with abandon
