I feel like Morgan Freeman's character in the Shawshank Redemption.
I feel like Freeman during a scene in the middle of the film. I'm telling Tim Robbins' character to forget about hope because it's a dangerous and useless thing. Mind you, their two characters were undergoing lifetime imprisonment.

If there was a sequel to Shawshank, I imagine those two characters growing old together. They would build boats and sail to many places. It won't be a romantic relationship. It's just two friends who love each other's company - two old wrinkly, tired people who have nothing but themselves. And when one of them is lying on his deathbed, he would say "I love you" to the other. And it won't feel weird. Because that's what love is all about.
